LNL: RICCARDO ORLANDI, SINGLE-PARTICLE STATE IN 79ZN. A NEUTRON-TRANSFER EXPERIMENT AT REX-ISOLDE
LABORATORI NAZIONALI DI LEGNARO
Knowledge of their structure is furthermore essential for the modelling of regions with even larger N/Z ratios, also relevant in astrophysical modelling. In this work, single-particle states in 79Zn were populated at REX-Isolde, CERN, via the 78Zn(d,p) reaction, in inverse kinematics. The reaction was studied experimentally with the T-REX segmented silicon array and the Miniball array, used respectively for the detection of scattered protons and prompt gamma-rays. The coincident detection of protons and gamma rays is needed to determine the low-lying nuclear structure of 79Zn, the N=51 isotone closest to 78Ni. Preliminary results will be presented. Comparison with state-of-the-art large scale shell model calculations and their relevance to the N=50 region will also be discussed.
