LNL: FAIçAL AZAIEZ, NUCLEAR STRUCTURE IN THE FUTURE: PUSHING THE LIMITS WITH HIGH INTENSITY STABLE AND RADIOACTIVE BEAMS
LABORATORI NAZIONALI DI LEGNARO
The nucleus has been studied for many years using heavy-ion accelerator facilities delivering stable beams with moderate beam intensities and first generation radioactive beams with rather low intensities. In the future the intensity increase of both stable and radioactive beams will allow to considerably push the limits of angular momentum, isospin, charge an excitation energy in nuclei. The talk will concentrate on illustrating some of the physics goals that are aimed for by studying nuclei in these extreme conditions.
