SEZIONE DI MILANO
Many extensions of the Standard Model predict additional heavy gauge bosons. In particular, some models offering an explanation for the high mass of the top quark predict that such bosons preferentially couple to third-generation fermions. In this seminar we present searches for additional neutral gauge bosons decaying into pairs of tau-leptons using the 7 TeV and 8 TeV datasets collected by the ATLAS experiment at the LHC during 2011 and 2012.
