MIB: PERTURBATIVE AND NON-PERTURBATIVE QUANTUM CORRECTIONS TO KäHLER MODULI SPACES

A powerful tool study Calabi-Yau manifolds is the two-dimensional N=(2,2) gauged linear sigma. Using the two-sphere partition function of such two-dimensional gauge theories, I present a new approach to calculate the exact Kähler potential of the quantum Kähler moduli space of Calabi-Yau n-folds, for any n. In their asymptotic large volume regime the quantum corrections. The former corrections are associated to the characteristic classes of the Calabi-Yau n-fold, while the latter corrections encode certain Gromow-Witten invariants.
