JOHANNA ERDMENGER Max-Planck-Institut, Munich: I review recent results on new spatially modulated ground states in gauge/gravity duality of relevance for QCD-like theories in an external magnetic field. Moreover, I present a holographic realisation of the Kondo model, which also involves a condensation mechanism.
