LABORATORI NAZIONALI DI LEGNARO
On this occasion of the Fifth International Meeting of the UCANS, it is perhaps proper to review the past activities and to access measures for the advancement of the Union. This talk is based on hardly the personal opinion of the presenter but collective, ongoing efforts from previous UCANS meetings and ongoing projects. In particular, I hope to resume the discussion of unfinished action items, including the motion raised by Günter S. Bauer at UCANS-V [1], to whom this talk is dedicated. Topics include: I. A network of collaboration: Schemes to maintain connectivity and momentum in between meetings II. Mirrors of local facilities: Regular reporting from member institutes on project status and development III. Laboratories for open development: Share of expertise and contemplation of pie-in-the-sky ideas IV. A school for education and training: Injection of new blood into the community and providing mentorship
