ANGELO MONTEUX, New High Energy Theory Center, Rutgers University New Jersey:
One of the unsolved mysteries of the universe is the abundance of matter over antimatter. I will review models of low-energy baryogenesis where the baryon asymmetry is generated from out-of-equilibrium decays with baryon-number-violating interactions. I will present an effective field theory framework in which the decay of the lightest particle of some new sector can give the asymmetry. A good example of this is given in R-parity violating supersymmetry. I will present preliminary results from LHC searches for these scenarios, as large baryon number violation needed for baryogenesis implies large s-channel production cross sections for di-jet resonances.
