TO: SEMINARIO DI STRINGHE:THE 4D QUANTUM SUPERMEMBRANE MINIMALLY IMMERSED
SESZIONE DI TORINO During the talk I will review the main features associated to the 11D
supermembrane minimally immersed (MIM2). Its properties are completely
different to those of the 11D supermembrane. I will show briefly how the
theory may be formulated on a G2 manifold in 4d with N=1 supersymmetry.
This theory is quantum consistent. I will derive directly from the mass
spectrum, of the MIM2, the tower of (F1, Dp) states of type IIB theory.
The results coincide exactly with those conjectured by Schwarz and also
found by conformal techniques in hep-th/9906214. I will also show the
existence of a tower of nonperturbative dyonic states on IIA theory.
