TO: SUPERSYMMETRIC AND CONFORMAL ASPECTS OF THE ATTRACTOR MECHANISM
SESZIONE DI TORINO The four dimensional Einstein-Maxwell action is known to have
a supersymmetric extension. Derivation of the attractor mechanism
equations supposes making some manipulations with the supersymmetric
Einstein-Maxwell action, such as passing to a one dimension.
Supersymmetric properties of the dimensionally reduced Einstein-Maxwell
action remain not so obvious. To clarify these properties we start
directly from a one dimensional supersymmetry algebra and pick up its
two representations: vector and conformal one. By their own these
representations perfectly describe the ``gravity'' and ``vector'' part
of the standard action governing attractor mechanism. When reconciling
these different parts, the supersymmetry and conformal symmetry uniquely
fix the form of the one dimensional supersymmetric action, and,
surprisingly, its bosonic part somewhat differs from the standard one.
Explanation of this discrepancy is yet to be understood.
