A high-intensity proton accelerator facility, Japan Proton Accelerator Research Complex (J-PARC), is in the beam-commissioning stage; we succeeded to reach the designed energy of the proton injector linac at 181 MeV in January, 2007, and to further accelerate the proton at 3 GeV in the rapid-cycling proton synchrotron in October, 2008. The 3-GeV proton beam has been also circulated in the 50-GeV main ring in May, 2008.
