Prof. Carl Weldon (University of Birmingham) The trouble with mirrors; boron-9 abstract: Recent results on boron-9 measured in Munich using the Q3D spectrometer in conjunction with the large acceptance Birmingham DSSD array will be presented. The (3He,t) reaction at a low beam energy of 33 MeV gave evidence of a 1/2+ state around 1.9 MeV, consistent with two other recent studies at high-energy. The Munich set-up enabled almost background free separation of the decay channels and also facilitated measurement of absolute branching ratios.
