LABORATORI NAZIONALI DI LEGNARO
The beam optics design of the section of the SPES 1+ beam line that will transport radioactive ion beams (RIBs) from the bunker to the tape system of the RIB analysis system/low-energy experimental area is nearing completion. The seminar will present the current layout, addressing both the optical considerations and the physical and project constraints that led to certain changes from the preliminary design study. In particular, the design updates to the electrostatic quadrupole triplet lenses, electrostatic dipoles and x-y steerers, beam diagnostics stations, and the mass-separating dipole magnet system will be summarized. Finally, parts of the design impacting the next phases of the 1+ beam line development will be discussed.
