SEZIONE DI FIRENZE
This workshop is the opening event of the EuroQUASAR programme of the European Science Foundation. This programme coordinates many research groups from within and outside Europe that are interested in defining new quantum standards and performing metrology with fundamental constituents of matter: atoms, molecules and photons. The research is organized in three different collaborative projects: Quantum degenerate gases for precision measurements (H.-C. Nägerl, Innsbruck) Inertial atomic and photonic quantum sensors (W. Ertmer and E. M. Rasel, Hannover) Molecule interferometry and metrology (M. Arndt, Vienna) All groups in the programme and other leading scientists will meet in Firenze for two days to discuss the present and future of this field.
